Linguist, children’s books author and writer

Shalom is an assistant professor in the department of linguistics at Utrecht university. He specializes in child language development, psycholinguistics and research methods. He is the creator of the Coloring Book method for testing language comprehension with young children, and the organizer of the annual EMLAR conference.

Shalom is also the author of three children books, and occasionally writes articles for the online magazine Dutchtown.

Children’s books

Since 2020, Shalom has published three children’s picture books, for children between 4 and 7 years old. All three books were selected for the prestigious Pijama Library project, and were printed in over 100,000 copies each and distributed in kindergardens. All three books were published by M. Mizrahi publishers.
